Xiaomi has a goal for doubling up on smartphone sales. This resulted in their low priced Red Rice smartphone: 799 Yuan which converts to $130! This Red Rice smartphone is priced very well considering the specs that's being offered. The company has now collaborated with Chinese Internet giant Tencent to launch a new Red Rice phone.
The specs of include a quad-core MediaTek CPU, 4.7-inch 720p screen (312 ppi) with Gorilla Glass 2, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, China Mobile's TD-SCDMA 3G, dual-sim / dual standby capability, an 8-megapixel rear camera and Xiaomi's MIUI-flavored Android.
The phone will be retailing at $130 (Rs 7,920 approx) and is available for pre-order on Qzone from today. The phone will hit stores from August 12 onwards. It should be noted that the Red Rice smartphone is currently available only in certain Asian markets, and India has not been included in that list yet.
